Who Can Get A Library Card?
You can get a free library card if:
- You are a person living within the corporate limits of the City of Penticton
- You live outside Penticton but own real property in the City of Penticton
- You are a member of the Penticton Indian Band
You can get a fee based library card if:
- You live in the area served by the Okanagan Regional Library or outside the Penticton city limits - yearly family membership is $75.00.
- You are a visitor temporarily residing in Penticton - deposit of $30.00, good for one month
You can get a BC OneCard if:
- You bring your home public library card and current ID into the library and ask for a BC OneCard.

We encourage children over the age of 6 to get a library card through their parent or guardian. You can download the Child's Application for Library Membership form to fill out and send in with your child if you are unable to come to the Library and register them.
How do I get a library card?
Come into the library with a piece of identification* with your name and current address.
If you are a student age 13-18, bring in your current student identification card. If you do not have student id you can download the High School Student's Application form for membership for your parent or guardian to fill out. Bring the completed form into the Library to register for a card.
* We accept picture identification showing current address such as a valid driver's license or B.C.I.D. The following may also be accepted if accompanied by other identification: personalized cheques, utility bill in the person's name, a business letter with a current post mark addressed to the person applying for the card, a rent receipt showing the name and address of the person applying for the card.
How do I get a BC OneCard?
- Bring your home public library card and current ID into the library and ask for a BC OneCard.

How do I donate books and other materials to the library?
We appreciate your choice to support the library.
If you would like to make a donation of your used books here are some helpful hints before you come in to the library:
We Like:
- Books published in the last 5 years
- Recent best sellers
- Clean copies of "classic" titles
- Newer paperbacks in good condition
We Don't Need:(and can't even sell in the Book Sale)
- Materials in poor condition (yellow pages, broken spines, musty smelling)
- Textbooks
- Dated information, particularly in the sciences
- Old government publications
Other Helpful Hints:
Donations can be dropped off at the Library. If you have an especially large donation (over 3 boxes) please call Stephanie at (250) 770-7786
Material that is not added to our collection is sold at the Book Sale, or on a table located in the Library.
How do I get homebound deliveries?
We have volunteers who deliver material to any Penticton resident unable to come into the Library due to illness, disability or hospitalization.
