How do I find out what programs are offered?
To find out what children's programs are currently being offered visit our "Children's Programs" webpage.
There are two main categories of children's programs.
The first category is preschool programs. These programs are designed for the age group of prewalkers to 5 year olds. Find more information about preschool programs at the "Preschool Program Descriptions" webpage.
The second category is afterschool programs. These programs are designed for 6 - 12 year olds. Find more information about afterschool programs at the "Afterschool Program Descriptions" webpage.
How do I choose a good book for a child?
Library staff will be delighted to offer you assistance in your book selections, but if we are not available to help you navigate our shelves you can visit the "Choosing Books for Children" webpage. This webpage will offer titles of some great reference books that are full of suggestions.
How do I contact the Youth Services Librarian?
To contact the Youth Services Librarian please call Julia at 770-7783, or visit the Youth Services Librarian's Office in the Children's Library.
How do I get back to the main Penticton Public Library webpage?
To get back to the main PPL webpage you just need to click the "Home" link on the top or left navigation menus. You can also click the "Home" link on the breadcrumb trail above the main content section of the webpage.
How do I get to the main "How do I page"?
This particular batch of "How do I" questions are geared specifically towards the Children's Library. If you have general questions about the library you can check out the main "How Do I" webpage.
You can find that page by using the "Home" links on the top and left navigation menus to return to the main PPL webpage. Then click the "How Do I" link on the left navigation menu.
How do I get a library card?
If you live in Penticton you need to come into the library with a piece of identification and proof of your current address.
We encourage children over the age of 6 to get a library card through their parent or guardian. You can download the Child's Application for Library Membership form to fill out and send in with your child if you are unable to come to the Library and register them.
